The Next Step...

A review of my work was given after the deadline to give me some feedback of what to do next and develop over the Christmas holidays.

Some of my ideas got left behind and some of my initial flower drawings were never used. My goal now is to go back and develop work to prepare for Semester 2.

Some of these leaf experiments need to be developed through colour and composition with different media.

Flowers such as these need to be incorporated into areas of research and design like this abstract example below.

My jigsaw pieces needs to be developed in terms of market level and composition. At the moment it is still in the experimentation stage so I now need to take this further.

These are just some aspects from my feedback that I may need to develop. I have a lot to do over the holidays.

The Deadline.

17th December. A.K.A. DEADLINE!!

This is my final display presentation of all the work I have produced this module ready to be marked.

I am very surprised with myself and proud for the amount of work I have done and hopefully the marks will reflect that.

The Embroidered Samples.

These are examples of some of the embroidery I managed to do in the little time I had left before the deadline.

FRENCH KNOTS

QUILTING

The types of stitching I chose to use I will develop and use in final products of next semester.

The Product Ideas.

Hopeful Product Ideas...

Bedding.
Cushions.

Pouffes.

Bean Bags?

The Jigsaw Pieces.

These jigsaw pieces consist of stylised florals with some geometric pattern and have been arranged in different ways.

The idea behind this was to create broken patchwork. This is why I have put together some pieced and some unpieced jigsaw pieces. At the moment these are just showing ideas. I plan on developing this jigsaw patchwork idea at a later date.

The Third Collection.

The Original Composition...

The Developments...

This is my favourite collection. I love the colour palette and the composition of all of them. I think I have used the right scale and the geometrics and florals all compliment each other well.

The Second Collection.

The Original Composition...

The Developments...

This collection I am happy with but there are a couple of designs I am still unsure on. I like the compositions but I think its the colour I am mainly having trouble on with this collection.

The First Collection.

The Original Composition...

The Developments...

I am very happy with the majority of these composition ideas, some of them may need changing slightly in composition or colour but I am pleased with the results so far.

The Artist Inspiration.

Johanna Basford

I love her work!

Her compositions with the use of black and white and the positive and negative space is great. This is something I aspire to.
