The Second Collection.

The Original Composition...

The Developments...

This collection I am happy with but there are a couple of designs I am still unsure on. I like the compositions but I think its the colour I am mainly having trouble on with this collection.

The Original Composition...

The Developments...

I am very happy with the majority of these composition ideas, some of them may need changing slightly in composition or colour but I am pleased with the results so far.

The Artist Inspiration.

Johanna Basford

I love her work!

Her compositions with the use of black and white and the positive and negative space is great. This is something I aspire to.

The Artist Inspiration.

M. C. Escher

Heres where I got the idea to use jigsaw pieces. I already wanted to create patchwork and looking at Escher's work shows me how, although he used pencil, any irregular shape can be used or experimented with at least.

The Artist Inspiration.

Beatriz Milhazes

Milhazes uses a range of media in her work and I love her combinations of geometrics and florals and her compositions. Here's hoping my designs turn out as good as these.

The Review Feedback.

After the review I had lots to do. Over the next few weeks my goal then was to play with all elements of research and combine aspects and think about composition. To do this I photocopied and changed the scale of all the different flowers I drew to begin with.

This is what happened.

These were to become the starting points to develop into possible collections.

The Review Preparation.

Before the review I had done little research on jigsaw pieces. This was part of my floral section and this is what I came up with.

 Full Jigsaw

Missing Jigsaw Pieces

I selected stylised floral imagery at random and inputted simple geometric pattern to create this idea. I do like it but it definitely needs work if it is going to be used in a final collection.
